Parents & Carers of LGBTQIA+ Children & Youth Peer Support Group
LGBTQIA+ Support Group for Parents & Carers
Thursday 18th August – 6:00 PM
89 Autumn St, Geelong West
Research shows that children who grow up feeling validated, connected, and a sense of belonging are more likely to go on to live healthy, happy, and fulfilling lives. Our key role as parents and carers is to provide this safe, supporting, and affirming environment for our children and young people. This lifetime commitment comes with its ups and downs, and twists and turns.
When raising LGBTIQA+ children and youth, parents and carers are often required to meet specific needs and show levels of understanding that can sometimes seem bewidlering at first. This peer support group seeks to provide a safe and inclusive space for parents and carers to discuss their experiences and challenges with each other, sharing and learning together ways to support their LGBTIQA+ kids.
